My microphone isn't recognized

Unplug and plug in the microphone again

If you’re using a USB recording device, try unplugging it and then plugging it back in. Or try another USB port on your computer. If you’re using a USB hub, try plugging it directly into your computer instead of using the hub.

Check Operating System Settings

Check your recording and input settings in Windows 10 or in MacOS to make sure your microphone is set up properly.

Check Chrome Settings

Make sure that Chrome is set up to listen to the correct microphone. By default, it will use the default microphone on the system, but you can change the microphone that Google Chrome listens to.

Install Audacity and see if your microphone is listed

Run an audio recording program like Audacity and see if your microphone is listed in the input devices list. Click the record button in Audacity and speak into your microphone. You should see your audio appearing as you speak.

Restart Google Chrome and/or your computer

Try restarting Google Chrome to see if that fixes the issue. If not, try restarting your computer with the microphone plugged in.
